2010 Quebec Conference Wrap Up

Pensions and Benefits in a Changing Global Environment
Quebec City, Canada, June 21-22, 2010

IPEBLA recently held a joint conference with the Canada Bar Association Pension and Benefits Section.  With over 165 delegates, the conference was a huge success.  The program featured a number of exciting sessions including a discussion of global developments in private pension regulation, a look at what is driving pension reform, an overview of pension investment structures and a review of bargaining trends in pension and benefits.  The guest speakers included Madame Justice Eileen Gillese of the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Honourable Paula Cox JP, MP, Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Government of Bermuda and William Kaplan, noted arbitrator, mediator and author.  The conference also included a fantastic social program, highlighted by a gala dinner at the Quebec Garrison Club.  A special thanks goes out to the numerous sponsors of the conference who supported the event with total contributions of approximately CDN$55,000.
