FULL DAY TOUR – Excursion to Quinta de Chocapalha Winery

Located approximately one hour north of Lisbon in the area of Alenquer, this region has been recognized since the 16th century for its excellent vineyards and wines. The landscape of Quinta de Chocapalha is characterized by its small rolling hills, abundant vegetation and views of Serra de Montejunto in the background.

During this full day tour guests will experience four full hours at the winery during which they will taste multiple wines paired with traditional Portuguese meats and cheeses. Following a formal tasting guests will enjoy a seated lunch with wine pairing before returning to the Sana Lisboa Hotel.  

During the late last century it was acquired by Alice and Paulo Tavares da Silva. The couple invested in the restructuring and total replanting of the 45 hectares of vineyard and introduced new cultivation techniques in order to give continuity to the old traditions of this  vineyard and are always in search of ways to improve the quality and prestige of its wines. Their white varieties are Arinto, Viosinho, Gouveio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The red varieties are Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Castelão, Syrah, Touriga Franca, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

10:00 am - 11:00 am Depart from the Sana Lisboa Hotel, bus transfer to Quinta de Chocapalha

11:00 am - 12:30 pm Formal tour and wine tasting

12:30 pm - 2:30 pm Seated lunch and wine pairing

2:30 pm - 4:00 pm Return bus transfer to the Sana Lisboa Hotel

 

PRE-CONFERENCE TOUR REGISTRATION FEE

Pre-conference tour fees are preferably to be paid by bank wire transfer in Euro, but may also be paid by credit card in Euro, CAD or USD. Cheques are also accepted, but in CAD or USD only.

· Pre-conference Tour  Fee: €170/ $194 USD/ $258 CAD 

The pre-conference tour fee includes transportation to Quinta de Chocapalha Winery, wine tasting and lunch. 

Spots are limited to 48 participants. When tour spaces are fully subscribed, a wait list will be instated on a first come, first served basis.
